As a blogger you often get emails asking you to looking at a new online service, review a product or write about the content that someone else has created, in fact I get more emails of this type now than I could ever reply to.

However, today I received an email asking me to promote a new “Best Gadget Blog List” that this site had compiled, nothing particularly new in this as people often do this kind of thing when they include you in a list, however this time when I headed over to the list in question I soon noticed that my gadget blog; Zath wasn’t actually included.

Are You Simon Barker?

Well I know that I’m Simon Barker, but I’m guessing there’s lots of other Simon Barker’s out there too, so in a similar way to Dave Gorman’s “Are You Dave Gorman” book where he went round the world meeting up with other namesakes, I’m thinking that it would be good to ‘virtually’ meet other Simon Barker’s here on my blog.

I’m thought this would be best done in a guest blog post kind of way, perhaps someone searching the Internet for a Simon Barker and arriving here at SimonBarker.com doesn’t specifically find the one they were looking for right now, such as those looking for Simon Barker – The Mentalist.

Strange, Weird and Funny Search Phrases (Feb 2010)

When you have a website and you start receiving search engine traffic, it can sometimes be rather surprising or even funny to look at some of the search phrases people are using to arrive at your site, quite often they must leave disappointed as the page they end up looking at can be quite removed from what they were clearly looking for!

Simon Barker Naked?

Oh yes! When I saw that somebody arrived here on my personal website from searching on Google for the phrase “simon barker naked” – well it kind of gets your attention while checking your website statistics!

You can see from the image below that I’m obivously caring some weight, well when I say weight I’m obviously talking about the google ranking variety and not in the physical sense – I’d like to think I’m not in too bad a shape in that sense neither, but there won’t be any nude pictures of this Simon Barker appearing here anytime soon that’s for sure – sorry to disappoint!
